Gardenvale brought together a series of carefully considered spaces, with warm timber, natural stone and custom detailing creating a consistent feel throughout the home.

From the larger living areas through to the more intricate joinery, the focus was on delivering each element cleanly and giving the details the attention they deserved.

Details that shape the whole space.

The custom timber work became one of the defining elements of the project. Curved forms, concealed storage and carefully resolved junctions required patience in both planning and execution, but it is those details that give the finished space its character.

More importantly, it changed how the room is used. The clients have since told us the rear living area now draws them towards the back of the home and has become the place they naturally settle at the end of the day.

Opening up the heart of the home.

The original kitchen felt relatively small and enclosed, with an adjoining study separated from it by a brick wall.

By opening the connection between the two spaces and converting the former study into a walk-in pantry, the kitchen was able to extend beyond its original footprint. What had felt cramped became a much more generous and functional kitchen and pantry zone.

Designed to sit naturally within the home.

The same considered approach carried through to the bathroom, where new materials, joinery and detailing were introduced with respect for the character already present in the home.

The retained timber windows remain an important part of the room, bringing warmth to the new finishes and helping the completed space feel naturally connected to the rest of the house.
