Dual Bathroom and Walk In Robe Renovation, 13 Crest Ave, Hampton East

Walton Custom Builders delivered a complete renovation of two bathrooms, a powder room and a walk in robe at Crest Ave, Hampton East, transforming well maintained but dated 1990s spaces into modern, beautifully finished rooms that work the way the family actually lives. The project was completed in ten weeks, with the family living in the home for the entire build.

The Brief

The clients came to us with concept drawings and clear ideas on layout. Their bathrooms needed more than a facelift, the spaces were tired, and the walk in robe simply did not function, feeling enclosed and awkward to use. They wanted a modern fit out and design throughout, with an ensuite and walk in robe planned around their daily routine rather than squeezed into the old layout. We worked alongside Thomas and Vogler Design to bring the concept to life.

Keeping the Home Liveable Throughout

The clients biggest concern was not the design. It was the disruption. Renovating two bathrooms back to back with a family still living in the home would have meant months of upheaval.

So we replanned the programme around their lives. We enclosed the existing shower in the alfresco area to give the family a comfortable place to wash, which freed us to renovate both bathrooms at the same time rather than one after the other. We then staged the powder room last, so it stayed in service until the new toilets were up and running. The family was never without working facilities, and running the bathrooms concurrently cut the overall build time significantly.

It is a small example of something we hold ourselves to on every project. We plan around the household, protect and tidy the home every day, and leave it clean each afternoon.
